8 Wins in 1 Week: HS Volleyball 2022
After the long two years of canceled volleyball seasons, our high school volleyball team is finally back on the court! For the past few weeks, our players have been working their hearts out every day at practice, correcting all their steps and meticulously perfecting their techniques. And we have to say the wait was definitely worth it. Last week our boys and girls, both varsity and JV, played in competitive matches against HOPE and EAST-WEST. The spectators were packed around the court with our Logos students, roaring with excitement and anticipation as they cheered for their friends and classmates. After the many bumps, sets, and spikes, our boys and girls gave it their all and brought home EIGHT wins by the end of the week! The crowd went wild, and the players were gleaming with joy as they won both of their first few matches. As excited as we are to spectate the upcoming games, here's what the players have to say!
Soreaksa - Senior G. 12
"I feel great. It was wonderful because, during the covid situation, we couldn't have practice or any games, so it felt great being back on the court; it felt even better winning. I look forward to the sense of comradery, school spirit, and VICTORY."
Haley - Senior G. 12
"I'm very excited to be playing again, especially with the new underclassmen. Unfortunately, due to our long hiatus, we are all a little rusty or just clueless, but with each game, we are getting back into the swing of things."
Andy - Senior G. 12
"We got a great team and an even better coach. Won both games so I feel great about it. W's only :)."
Rattanac - Freshman G. 9
"Out of the two, the Hope game was definitely not as intense as the East-West game. The EWIS game was very fun and stressful since the crowd was hyped and it was a close game. We still managed to win so that's good, but their team is also really good. Our team is amazing too, especially our middle blocker 😘 but I had a lot of fun."
Odom - Sophomore G. 10
"I'm very excited about the 2022 volleyball season with the boys. We're undefeated so far and the ego is through the roof. We have a good chance of getting a medal, especially with a goated middle blocker. The team is also one of the best I have played with so it's looking good."
