Class of 2025 Koh Rong Senior Trip

The Senior Class of 2025 wrapped up their final year in high school with a trip to Koh Rong, Cambodia. Four days on an island together, no classes, no deadlines, just sun, sea, and the people we've spent years growing up with. It was the perfect way to close this chapter of our lives before graduation comes around. From snorkeling in clear, blue waters to late-night talks on the beach, every moment was a memory that could be stored for years to come.
Of course, it wasn't just about having fun (though we definitely did plenty of that). A big part of the trip was about unity. It was about coming together one last time before we all go our separate ways. Throughout the trip, the main activity that we spent our days around was called R.A.F.T., designed to help us reconnect and reflect on our time together.
R for Reconciliation: On the first day, we did reconciliation. Some of us used this time to mend friendships, offering overdue apologies and clearing up past misunderstandings. Others used it to just reflect on past actions and give closure to one another.
A for Affirmation: On the second day, we shared words of appreciation, reminding each other of how much we've meant to one another throughout high school. Close or not, we all came together to share encouragement and love for one another, as it could be our last time doing something like this.
F for Farewell: On the third day, we used the reflection time to say goodbye to one another, even if we weren't actually leaving yet. Reality started sinking in—we were reaching the end of an era. Whether we admitted it or not, the thought of parting ways felt bittersweet.
T for Thinking Ahead: On the last day, with university just a few months away and the future ahead of us, we took a moment to reflect on the future, our goals, and everything waiting for us beyond graduation.
To symbolize our high school journey, we built an actual raft using cardboard, rope, and whatever materials Mr. Febus brought. It was a fun bonding experience, even with the hot, humid weather. When we finally set it out to sea, it didn't last long before breaking apart. But in a way, that made it even more meaningful. Life is unpredictable, things don't always go as planned, but with the right people beside us, we'll always find a way to stay afloat.

Outside of the R.A.F.T. activity, we spent our days snorkeling, fishing, and exploring some parts of the island. A lot of people managed to catch fish, which we grilled and ate right by the beach. Of course, nothing tastes better than food you caught yourself. When we weren't out in the water, we were just enjoying the little things: eating dinner together, laughing over the most random conversations, the cockroach incident, and taking in the fact that this was one of our last moments together. By the time the trip came to an end, there was this unspoken understanding between all of us. It was a trip filled with many memories, but it was also a bittersweet sense of closure. As the class heads off in different directions, this trip will remain a core memory, for the bonds we've built over the years.
