Food Review #1: MÜ Coffee

10/22/2018

MÜ Coffee is an extension of MU Gourmet (right next door). They serve Singaporean-style food, and have a set menu (which they change monthly.) Find it on Street 51, corner street 228.

7/10

The flavors of this dish were almost gentle. This could totally be a comfort food. The first thing that hits you is the distinct taste of seafood in the broth. The noodles were soft and chewy but may have been a little overcooked. The seafood went well with the noodles - a little too well - and their flavor didn't pop. 3 points were taken off because of this, and because of the lack of textural contrast (everything was just warm and soft).

8.5/10

The flavor was rich and not too overpowering, and the chicken and mushrooms were flavorful and tender. However, the texture of the rice was a little too soft, and considering that it was the backbone of the dish, 2.5 points was taken off as a result.

In conclusion,

Overall, I'd give MÜ Coffee an 8/10 for the comforting food, quiet relaxed atmosphere, and friendly service. The place is relatively small and good for groups of less than five. They change their menu on a monthly basis, and recommend calling ahead of time if you plan on eating there.
