Food Review #3: Ajisen Ramen

11/09/2018

Ajisen Ramen is a Japanese-based chain restaurant found in many countries including Cambodia, Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, and many more. If you're ever craving some ramen, you can find this place at Aeon 2 and 753 Kampuchea Krom Blvd (128).

I haven't been to many ramen places in my life (which is very odd coming from someone who loves Japanese food), and I haven't been to Japan to try legit ramen, so I'm not exactly an expert in this dish. What I can say about this ramen shop, though, is that it is a pretty decent place.

Out of the variety of ramen dishes available, and other items, such as tonkatsu, oyakodon, and gyoza, I ordered the corn ramen. The dish was topped off with some char siu, which was delicious and quite flavorful; some cloud ear mushrooms; some green onion and chives, I believe; and lastly, there was a soy-marinated soft boiled egg - it was amazing. The yolk was runny and had a custard-like texture, and the egg itself was quite firm.

Overall, I would give this dish a 3.5/5. The place was nice, clean, and had good service. The ramen was pretty good, but the broth was a little on the greasy side. In my opinion, as well as some other customers, it wasn't as flavorful as ramen should be. Ajisen Ramen isn't a bad place to have ramen, though, it was a good place overall.
