Frozen II

Frozen, the beloved movie from 2013, has come back in a sequel to recapture its audience's attention. Although they made a strong attempt to make it almost exactly like the first one, some people can agree that they tried a little too hard.

Elsa keeps hearing this call to leave Arendelle and find out what the past was like. At the beginning of the movie, it flashes back to tell the story of her grandfather and a magical wood. This wood is now trapped in a Misty spell that only one person can break: Elsa. Although she doesn't know it yet, she will have to leave everyone she loves to do this. The biggest question is is she ready for that? While this is happening, the magic has kept everyone from entering Arendelle. Will she be able to save the home she loves?

One thing everyone remembers about the first movie is the main theme song "Let it go." knowing that everyone loved that song they tried to recreate it with the song "Into the Unknown" by Panic at the Disco. This song highlights Idina Menzel (Elsa) once again in this less catchy song. It is a beautiful song but the only words most people remember are "into the Unknown." So they tried to star Jonathan Groff (Kristoff) in "lost in the woods." This 80s song makes the movie seem like a joke when this love song is sung. Although it's a cute song, it also makes the character look needy, and obsessed.

Many people will tell you that Olaf is their favorite character. This humorous snowman has been a lovable sweet character throughout the series. Some might say he takes his humor too far in this movie, but he makes up for it with his iconic quotes. When the world seems like there is nothing left to live for, Olaf will pull a joke and keep the viewers awake. Crying is one thing, but whenever Olaf comes on the screen, you will be crying with laughter.

This movie definitely has extra attributes that make the movie less lovable. Yes, Elsa has ice powers. Yes, there was magic in the first movie. But in this movie, they took it a little too far. They have changed the meaning from true love to spirits, and it has affected the movie greatly.

The writers also decided to give Elsa more power. She now not only can control ice but water now, which makes the movie a little boring. Because of this, we all know that Elsa will probably be able to save the world again because she has done it before, right?

Overall, this was a good movie. This a movie to consider before watching but the writers did a decent job. If you are expecting for the movie to be similar to the first one, then watch the first one, because you won't find it in this movie. It has different lights, and meanings, but will take you back to Arendelle and give you a warm feel once again.
