Still Swooning Over Boys Over Flowers? Same.

Boys Over Flowers is a remake of the original Japanese version (with a different name), but with the same concept. This high school coming of age Korean drama has been recognized as one of the few dramas that boosted the Korean Drama Wave to gain momentum globally. This then makes it one of the most famous in the k-drama world, as well as a beloved classic.

Boys Over Flowers stars a few of Korea's leading actors, one of which is Lee Minho. In addition to playing a big part in starting the Hallyu wave, Boys Over Flowers is responsible for skyrocketing his career, allowing him to become a household name across Korea and a globally recognized one for the past decade.

This drama is without a doubt one of k-drama world's best, with the incorporation of comedy, romance, drama, all interlaced with each other to create a story worth watching for years to come. This drama suits the taste of all ages, genders, nationalities, and interests with its wide range of filming locations. Featuring landmarks from Seoul to New Calabasas and Macau, fashion like those found in top magazine pages, and dizzying array of wealth (providing for the luxurious lifestyle of private jets, 5-star hotels, and private parties), this drama could arguably be the Crazy Rich Asians of 2009.

All materialist glamour aside, however, Boys Over Flowers does leave with us an important reminder: friendship. For girls and guys alike, the F4 (the main clique) stirs up a wave of admiration for the friendship and loyalty that the four boys share with one another. Although fictional characters, the F4, are iconic characters and for good reasons; they dress well, they live well, they party well, and they understand friendship well. They always had each others' back, they fought and sacrificed for each other, and most importantly, they valued and cherished their friendship. If Boy Over Flowers is known for anything, it would be the F4, and they are worth watching.
