The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Get into the holiday spirit with Logos' very own Christmas Fair!
It's December. Midterms are over. What better way to kick off the winter break than with a schoolwide Christmas fair?
The fair was in full swing at 3:30.
In minutes, snack booths were crowded. The mouthwatering selection of tteokkochi, Christmas cookies, baked goods, and refreshments had eager high schoolers too-easily enticed, money flowing from their wallets. Haley's booth was the first to close down. Her stock of tteokkochi had run out before the hour had even turned, so the student council was left to fill the void with their booth: Christmas cookie decoration. Students got into the holiday spirit with cookie-decorating, dancing and screaming off-key notes to the likes of Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas" and Ariana Grande's "Santa, Tell Me" blasting from the school speakers. Others still found their cash going toward charity with the TBT bake sale, their snickerdoodles and brownies as delightful as their cause. As the day stretched into the evening, the refreshment booth led by the seniors became increasingly popular. After hours of partying when the excitement began dying, students were content to simply relax with some Capri Sun.
For the more intellectually minded, the PEP booth challenged the student body to rigorous debate. Students had hard-held beliefs questioned, like the certainty of Argentina's victory in this World Cup and whether or not Messi was truly better than Ronaldo. The booth was lively and flowing with passionate debate-sometimes getting overly emotional and morphing into incoherent screaming matches-but students found themselves walking away having learned something valuable: whether Ronaldo or Messi, the choice is still better than Mbappe.
Between visiting booths, students milled about along the field and school cafe, catching up with friends, bargaining grades with weary teachers, and enjoying their hard-earned rest after a tumultuous finals week. They perused the junior-led Garage Sale with their modest treasure cove of literature, SAT guidebooks, and limited-edition K-Pop albums. Some high school boys played football, their own discount FIFA.
But the pinnacle of the fair was undoubtedly the Dance Club's performance. Scattered students, teachers, staff, and parents crowded before the hallway in front of the office as the dancers got ready. The eager crowd wasn't to be disappointed. The middle school Dance Club members blew everyone away with their sharp, piercing choreography to NMIXX's "Dice" before stealing the audience's breath away again with Stray Kids' "Domino." Cheers erupted from the crowd, and parents rushed forward to take photos of their children, congratulating them on their brilliant performance. Behind the scenes coordinators HeeWoo Kim and Joy Choi celebrated with their club members, comforting the crying girls overwhelmed by the success. It was a scene straight out of a Korean idol producer show.
To have the day commemorated, the Journalism club led a photo booth. Students gathered for photos, capturing the events of Christmas and 2022 in a single shot (or two if they're feeling extra sentimental). It was a semester worth remembering for the whole student body.
